The Bhutan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCI) is hosting 1st Made in Bhutan Exhibition – a milieu for promoting Bhutanese indigenous products, from 19-21 February 2020 at Multi-Level Car Parking (Level 3 & 4), Near Zangdopelri Complex, Thimphu.
While efforts and focus have always been towards promoting Bhutanese indigenous products in Dzongkhag level, this event is aimed to bring the CSIs from all 20 Dzongkhags and nearby rural areas in one common platform. The CSIs that has export oriented potential products and budding entrepreneurs shall be participating in the event. It is to bring them closer to the mainstream market in Thimphu and encourage the forging of business linkages. Likewise, it is also to create awareness of availability of such indigenous products in Dzongkhags and also expected to inspire potential entrepreneurs.
The exhibition will have grand opening on 19th February 2020 by Lyonpo Loknath Sharma, Minister for Economic Affairs at 10:00 am. During the opening ceremony session on 19th February 2020, one of the CSIs will be launching and introducing its products in the market. A total of 40 CSIs will be displaying varieties of honey, herbal teas, mustard oil, yacon syrup, kiwi products, varieties of pickle, turmeric products, dairy products, wood products, iron & steel
wire products, ginger essential oil & fine ginger powder, paper pencil, textile & handicraft items, among others.
Each CSI will be provided free space of 3×3 meter area with all the built-in facilities under the Transitional Trade Support Facility. TSF is a program fund support received from Government of India in order to promote bilateral trade and strengthen economic linkages.
