Medical Expo 2018

The Bhutan Chamber of Commerce & Industry in collaboration with Bhutan Health Trust Fund is organizing “Medical Expo 2018” from 5th to 7th February 2018.

All the medical services in Bhutan are provided free of charge by the Government. Apart from manufacturing of herbal (traditional) medicines and medical gases, there are no manufacturing facilities for pharmaceuticals and medical goods in the country and therefore there is heavy dependence on the imports. With the increase in the number of manpower, health infrastructure and expansion of specialties in the medical field, the demand for pharmaceuticals and medical goods is increasing over the years.

The medical goods are imported through Bhutanese suppliers who represent the manufacturers outside the country. There is a need to provide a platform for professionals to witness the wide range of pharmaceuticals and medical goods to enable
them to better understand the availability and help in better selection during tender evaluation. There is also a need to promote networking between the businessmen, suppliers and manufacturers to promote import of better quality products
and competition among the Bidders.

Organizing a Medical Expo would provide the required platform and promote networking among all the relevant agencies and suppliers.
