A group of 50 hospitality professionals from Private Sector recently returned from a high-impact, one-week intensive training program at the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) Hajipur in Vaishali, India. The initiative was made possible through the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme, with strong programme coordination support extended by the Embassy of India.
The training, which ran from February 23 to March 1, 2026, was organized by the Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) in close coordination with the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Bhutan (HRAB).
The programme targeted working professionals from across the hospitality sector with varying levels of experience. Through the support of HRAB in mobilizing 50 participants, the initiative ensured that the training benefited professionals directly engaged in strengthening Bhutan’s hospitality and service standards.
Similarly, a group of five professionals from private media houses in Bhutan recently completed a two-week “New Age Media and IT Training” programme at the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), New Delhi, India. The Embassy of India facilitated a customized training programme for participants from Bhutan’s private sector media industry, including representatives from media houses, private magazines and audio-visual companies, providing them with valuable exposure to emerging digital media technologies and practices.
This training marks a significant step in the BCCI’s ongoing efforts to enhance the skills of the Bhutanese workforce through international partnerships and specialized industry modules.
With this, the BCCI would like to extend its sincere appreciation to the Embassy of India for its continued and generous support through the ITEC Programme, which consistently provides valuable opportunities for capacity building and professional development for the Bhutanese private sector.
