The Bhutan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCI) is pleased to is pleased to share information on the ITEC Courses 2026, fully funded by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
The Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme, established in 1964, is the Government of India’s flagship capacity-building initiative. Over the past six decades, the programme has trained more than 200,000 professionals and government officials from over 161 countries, fostering knowledge exchange and strengthening international cooperation.
The ITEC Programme offers a wide range of short-term professional training courses across diverse sectors, providing participants with valuable opportunities to enhance their knowledge, skills, and professional networks.
The Bhutanese private sector has been one of the beneficiaries of this Programme. Over the years, professionals from Bhutan have enhanced their competencies through these fully funded training courses, contributing to the growth and development of the country’s private sector.
BCCI highly values the continued guidance and cooperation extended by the Embassy of India (EoI), Bhutan, in facilitating access to these prestigious training opportunities for BCCI and its members. This collaboration has played an important role in strengthening institutional capacities and fostering closer economic ties between Bhutan and India.
All applications from the private sector must be routed through the BCCI. Applications submitted directly to the Embassy of India will be referred to BCCI for processing and endorsement.
Interested applicants are requested to submit the following documents to BCCI:
- A forwarding letter expressing interest in attending the specific ITEC training programme being applied for
- Security Clearance
- Copy of Passport and two recent passport-size photographs
- Highest Academic Qualification Certificate
- English language proficiency, such as a certificate issued by BCSEA or a recognized English language test certificate (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, or equivalent)
- Copy of Citizenship Identity Card (CID)
- Copy of the valid business/trade license of the firm
- Concern/No Objection Letter from the employer authorizing participation in the training programme (applicable if the nominee is an employee and not the owner of the business)
- BCCI Private Sector Human Resource Development Form, which can be downloaded from the BCCI website
