What does Bhutan Chamber of Commerce & Industry do?

Representation

  • Hold regular dialogues with Royal Government of Bhutan to advocate, provide feedback & represent businesses of Bhutan during the fine-tune policies and legislation regulating the business procedures and practices.
  • BCCI shall serve on statutory boards and government committees to help formulate policy guidelines and set standards that will enhance business environment and members’ competitiveness.

Networking

  • Establish alliances with local & foreign business organisations to develop mutually beneficial relationships via Memorandum of Understanding, Joint Consultative Committees and more.
  • Join a global network of Chambers of Commerce to facilitate co-operation and development of business in Bhutan.
  • Provide platform to co-ordinate members’ efforts to trouble-shoot, address, solve common problems or issues affecting business operations.

Membership Development

  • Human Resource development of business entity via in-country or ex-country training limited to the availability of fund or sponsorship or from government.

Information Services

  • Provide relevant business information on business opportunities, technology advancement, government rules & regulations etc.
  • Maintain business listing for members’ use.
  • Conducts market surveys and economic research & circulate reports to members through newsletters, bulletins, circulars via email or website.

Trade and Business Development

  • Publish directory of members, their business and capabilities
  • Process Trade inquiries
  • B2B services as buyer-seller meetings, facilities & services for meetings/forum between trade visitors & members.
  • Identify trade & investment opportunities to maximize these through organizing trade and investment missions, meetings between members & associations etc.
  • Organizing & facilitate members on Trade Fairs & Exhibitions
  • Coordinating members’ participation in trade shows.

Advisory Services

  • Organize meetings, conferences, workshops, seminars to provide members with fora for exchange of views and experiences.
  • Encourage member companies to enhance competitiveness through quality management, improved product design etc.
  • Initiate/advice on involvement of Information & Communication Technology to achieve greater efficiency.
  • Coordinate with Sector Associates for enhancing business environment.

Other Services

  • Facilitate interested business license holder to access Group Loan Scheme for Nu. 300,000 from BDBL.
