Bhutan Chamber of Commerce & Industry is pleased to share the announcement made by the Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs pertaining to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for dealing with Death of Foreign Nationals in Bhutan, 2016, endorsed by the 108th Lhengye Zhungtshog held on 12th July 2016.
In the absence of a SOP, there were issues of coordination amongst the agencies while dealing with death of foreign nationals in the country. Therefore, this SOP is being adopted as an administrative coordination mechanism to define functions of all relevant agencies so as to streamline the process.
In view of the above, the MoHCA request all the concerned agencies to kindly follow the SOP while dealing with death of foreign nationals. The SoP shall come into force with effect from 20th September 2016.
